So, here it is! The story behind the name of our store: Where Roses Bloom…
It’s been over a year now that our business has been open and ideas have been flowing. A wonderful, inspiring year full of many hopes and desires for the future. We’d like to take the time to share with you how Where Roses Bloom developed into a vintage-inspired boutique.
Bethany and I were first introduced by her Aunt Megan a few years ago. Before Bethany had even moved to Tennessee, Megan had sent me a few emails saying that I should get to know Bethany, that she liked the same things I did and we’d be fast friends. It couldn’t have turned out to be more true. Bethany and I first met in a Bible study group in Murfreesboro and our friendship quickly developed. We quickly realized that we both shared a love for vintage pieces that held stories and a love for things that were truly unique and eclectic. We spent our weekends going to antique stores, flea markets and making crafts. We couldn’t get enough of it! After talking about our own personal dreams and hopes for the future, we both realized that we wanted to own a store, and when we put our ideas together, Where Roses Bloom developed.
The story of how we came up with the name Where Roses Bloom is pretty special too. Once we realized that our passions were quickly developing into something tangible, we started talking a lot about how we could put our ideas and thoughts into action. I went on a trip to NYC with friends and the whole time, Bethany and I were texting back and forth about inspiration and knowing that it was time to get the ball rolling on our venture. The night after I flew back into town, we met up at Starbucks, pens in hands, and began brainstorming. What could we call this store of our collectibles? We both knew that we wanted it to be something extremely unique and whimsical. We brainstormed for hours, pairing words up with each other, but nothing seemed to go together. And we had one thing in common- both of our names contained ‘rose’ which we tried to incorporate into our store’s name. Then Bethany had a wonderufl idea. She pitched the idea of using “a world where roses bloom”, a lyric from a favorite song, “La Vie En Rose”. Amazing! The idea seemed so perfect- a store that talked about a beautiful place filled with blooming ideas and things. After talking a bit more, we decided to shorten the name to “Where Roses Bloom” and voila!, our store started.
The store name holds so much meaning for us. Not only does it incorporate our names, but at the time we lived on Rosemont Avenue where all of our ideas came to life for the very first time. We’re so happy with the name of our store and always joke about people will hopefully one day say, “I’m going to Where Roses Bloom.”
And if you have a moment, check out the song by Louis Armstrong that inspired it all here.

We have been anticipating this day for so long! Over 11 months ago, Where Roses Bloom was created. Since then we have dedicated countless hours to this crazy dream of ours- hundreds of stops at stores and flea markets to purchase vintage one-of-a-kind pieces, hundreds of hours of meetings & design, but most of all, countless hours of praying for this dream.
The day is finally here. We are so excited to tell you the news! Today is the day that our very first part of our big adventure starts- we’ve launched our Etsy store! We are so excited to list many of the items we’ve found along the way & hope that you’ll find something that suits your fancy!
Welcome, friends, we hope that you enjoy Where Roses Bloom as much as we do.
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! Today could not be a more perfect day to celebrate the father in your life. I wanted to share with you today a quick and fun way to make a memory book for someone special whether it be your father or your best friend. It’s a great way to express your love for them and also allows you to express your creative side, too!
I purchased my scrapbook at the local craft store as a pre-built scrapbook created by K & C Company. The pages are all unique and bound into the book so that helped me save on time and money.
I gathered old photos and extras I could use for added detail on the pages to make each page truly one-of-a-kind. You can choose to add whatever you like to your pages such as old ticket stubs, magazine clippings, newspaper articles– the sky’s the limit!
When I began this memory book, I focused on NOT forcing myself to be the “average” scrapbooker and to let myself be completely expressive. My pages are filled with scraps of paper and fun objects that helped bring each to life.
Don’t be afraid to doodle on your pages if you’d like! Make each page as personal as you’d like, and it’s completely up to you to put in as much time and detail as you want.
And don’t worry about making a mess, it happens! Allow yourself the space to get in your creative zone. I think it’s extremely important that you show what you feel inside in this memory book of yours! Below are a few excerpts from my scrapbook I made as a memory book of my father. He was a very special man who loved everyone so much! I had so much fun spending my nights putting together a book of memories of him.
I hope you have a great time making your own book and gifting it to that special someone if you so choose.
Happy Tuesday, friends! We hope your day has started off beautifully! We wanted to take a minute to share with you our story. Hope you enjoy!
Bethany & I have not always known each other. In fact, we met a couple of years ago after she moved to Tennessee to try a new adventure in life. We instantly became friends and found that we had much in common- a true love for music, color, adventures, thrifting and more! After many fun times together, we realized that the world was missing something very, very special- Where Roses Bloom. Where Roses Bloom is a dream that was discovered sometime in 2011 but came to life in the early weeks of this year. It’s a place that’s filled with our dreams and passions. It’s where we go to be inspired and create, and hopefully one day soon it will be the place for our dreams to come to life. Yep, to life! Bethany and I are so excited about Where Roses Bloom and the opportunities it holds. Very, very soon we are going to start selling some of our favorite vintage pieces online (don’t worry, we’ll let you know when that time comes!), and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Of course, Where Roses Bloom couldn’t just be an online store, our BIG dream is to go mobile with it! We hope that Where Roses Bloom makes such an impact on so many lives that we can’t keep it contained right here in Nashville. It would be a dream for us to travel the U.S. selling vintage & unique finds from all over the world. A dream that we hope comes true sooner than later.
Below you can see pictures from this weekend of us spending time doing what we’re passionate about.. thrifting! Not only did we find a few beauties at an estate sale, we also found an amazing airstream right off the beaten path at Loveless Cafe! What a great weekend.
Thanks for reading about our weekend and especially our dream. What big dreams do you have??
